Address Assignments

What happens after I get my address assignment?

  1. A copy of your new address assignment and the accompanying records will be sent directly, via email, to you based on the email found on the application.
  2. A copy of the records is sent to Palm Beach County Property Appraisers (PAPA) to be updated on their site and filed into the county records.

How long does the addressing process take?

  • Normally anywhere between 2-4 business days.
  • For larger development projects with multiple addresses the turn around tends to be longer, but can be coordinated/discussed with our Addressing/GIS team.

Can I pick the name/number for my address?

  • Name and number suggestions are welcome, but ultimately the address numbers are chosen by city personnel and are based on the current / future address ranges for the surrounding area of the subject property.  Please note that the requested address should not be used on any City or external applications unless City staff have confirmed the address assignments.
  • All new address numbers must follow the pre-established number sequence of the surrounding area.
  • Street names are chosen through a process involving deliberation by the City Commission.
