The City of Delray Beach focuses on providing an essential way to provide proper location and location uniformity elements for a smooth response time from policemen, firefighters and medical personnel. Addresses that are incorrect due to address numbers out of sequence or configuration, administrative compliance of a property associating with the address number, property ownership, parcel/road deficiencies, etc. causes an inefficient delay for First Responders. The GIS professionals within the Development Services Department continuously maintain the addresses as well as answering any inquiries from Palm Beach County, in-house personnel and Delray Beach residents.

The City's Sign Code identifies the importance of addresses as a part of identifying a property. If there is no street address, another suitable method of identifying the location shall be provided.
