LETF contains funds awarded to the Delray Beach Police Department as a result of successful forfeiture litigation in State court and participation in the Federal Assess Sharing Program. In accordance with F.S. 932.7055(5)(a), the Statute requires no less than 15% of the last fiscal year’s revenues be donated in the form of grants to nonprofit programs in Delray Beach.

Nonprofit organizations in good standing and with an active 501(C)(3) are eligible to apply. The organization must serve residents of Delray Beach.

Applicants must successfully incorporate in their proposed programs LETF statutory requirements: Crime Prevention, Safe Neighborhood, Drug Abuse Prevention and Education.

When a new application cycle opens, it will be advertised, and the application will be available on City of Delray Beach Police Department website. Please follow instructions in the application.

Applications will be made available on the Delray Beach Police Department’s website for completion and should be emailed to LETF@mydelraybeach.com by March 15, 2024. Applications must include all required signatures, notarization, and attachments. Applications that fail to meet the minimum submission criteria may result in denial. If electronic submission creates a hardship upon the applicant, the applicant may submit the application in paper form via mail, fax, or hand-delivery, and must be received prior to the deadline.

All applications that meet the minimum submission criteria are reviewed and rated by Delray Beach Police Department LETF Committee, for recommendation to the City Commission for approval.

Applicants are welcome to apply for an amount up to $10,000. Please note that LETF funds are not intended to support entire programs.

LETF application period opens in February, if funds are available.
