Captain Rodney Stevenson began his career at the Delray Beach Police Department in January of 2002. He was promoted to sergeant in 2015, lieutenant in 2019 and captain in August 2022. During his tenure, he has served in Community Patrol, West Atlantic Avenue Task Force, Criminal Suppression Unit, Criminal Investigations (Persons), Criminal Intelligence Unit, Community Oriented Policing, Clean and Safe Downtown, Traffic, Special Events and Community Outreach Program. He is currently assigned as the Captain within Community Response Division.  Captain Stevenson is a graduate of Columbus State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree. He is a graduate of the FBI LEEDA Institute and the Senior Management Institute for Police. Prior to serving with the Delray Beach Police Department, he played professional baseball with the Montreal Expos.
