Lieutenant
Lieutenant Rachel Reed began her career at the Delray Beach Police Department in August of 2002. She was promoted to sergeant in 2015 and lieutenant in 2021. During her tenure, she has served in Community Patrol, Clean & Safe Downtown Unit, Problem Oriented Policing Unit and the Crime Suppression Unit. In August of 2021, Reed was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and became the Administrative Lieutenant to Community Road Patrol as well as overseeing the Community Oriented Policing Unit. Lieutenant Reed has been involved in Rape Aggression Defense Training, the Hostage Negotiations Team, the Police Explorers, and the Department’s Wellness Initiative.
Lieutenant Rachel Reed is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, where she earned Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Lieutenant Reed is also a graduate of Waldorf University, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership. She also attended the 88th Command Officers Development Course at the Southern Police Institute.
