The City of Delray Beach has boat storage spaces available on the municipal beach. The cost of the annual permit is $364.87. Boat Storage Rules Below:

To ensure the continuation and privilege of storing and operating boats at the Delray Municipal Beach, it is essential that you are aware of and adhere to the following Rules and Regulations. Failure to abide by any of these Rules and Regulations may result in the revocation of your permit and the loss of your ability to store your boat on the municipal beach.

1. The City of Delray Beach will cite any person who does not abide by the City of Delray Beach Ordinance section 101.35. The City may enforce penalties for violations in accordance with Section 101.99.
2. All boat owners applying for or renewing a permit are required to first have their boat inspected by the Aquatics Operations Supervisor to ascertain the boats are completely assembled, seaworthy, safely tied down and in compliance with Florida Statutes.
3. Boats are prohibited from operating in the lifeguard supervised area of Delray Beach. This extends from Casuarina Street north to approximately one hundred yards north of the northern most lifeguard tower. All boats must operate at least 200 yards offshore of the designated swimming areas of the Municipal Beach.
4. Boats cannot be placed or moved onto dune areas; all boats must be stored east of the sand dunes in a straight line.
5. Boats must be stored between the north and south perimeters indicated by directional arrows on the Boat Storage signs.
6. Boats that are stored outside the designated area on the Municipal Beach will be removed without advance notice. Boats stored on the beach not displaying a current permit decal will be removed from the beach in accordance with section 101.35(H).
7. In the event of a hurricane warning, boat owners MUST remove their own boats from the beach before or during a hurricane watch / warning. Boats may not be moved westward of the sand fence onto dune areas at any time. All boats left on the beach at the conclusion of the hurricane / storm will be removed (towed), at the owner(s) expense, from the beach and the storage permit will be revoked.
8. During extreme high tides, high surf and severe weather conditions, boats must be safely secured east of the fence in a manner that minimizes the possibility of damage to adjacent boats or removed / towed from the beach by the owner at the owner(s) expense. Any damage sustained by not removing is at the owner’s expense and no fault of the City.
9. Boats must not be left unattended on the beach with sail sets.
10. Boats stored on the beach must be always maintained in usable condition. Failure to do so will result in boats / boat parts being removed at the owner’s expense. All boats are subject to yearly reinspection beginning October 1, 2024.
11. Boats must be secured when not in use to prevent damage to other boats and nuisance noise due to rattling halyards, stays, etc. Major boat work is not permitted on the beach. Minor boat care and maintenance is acceptable.
12. Permit fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. The sale of boats must be reported to the Aquatics Operations Supervisor within 10 days of the transaction. If this is not done the seller and buyer will no longer be eligible to purchase future permits.
13. The City of Delray Beach is not liable for any damage or theft of your boat and assumes no responsibility. The boat is stored at your own risk.
14. Be considerate of others around you by properly disposing of any trash or litter you bring to the beach. Personal items, including grills, unwanted storage, beach equipment etc. are not permitted in the boat area.
