What is Climate and Art Delray Beach 2021
SOLUTIONS is the theme for this year's Climate and Art event, which allows for many interpretations within the context of climate change.
Climate change is a significant factor shaping the future of our world, nation, and personal lives. As such, we must seek solutions. Combustible fuels, in the form of a solution, are a major source of the greenhouse gases driving climate change.
As a coastal community, Delray Beach is closely associated with the ocean, a dynamic seawater solution. The ocean has reduced the impacts of climate change by taking massive amounts of carbon dioxide into solution. More carbon dioxide has shifted the ocean's solution equilibrium, lowering pH and negatively affecting shell-forming organisms.
Climate change is a diverse and complicated issue, requiring consideration of a large palette of data, concepts, and interactions to begin to understand.
We are happy to present Climate and Art – 2021 and hope that this theme inspires in ways that will further inform our community and lead us toward… SOLUTIONS.

More of Florida communities are seeing the physical impacts of climate change with tidal flooding and sea level rise. The City of Delray Beach has partnered with Erin L. Deady, P.A., a Delray Beach-based land-use planning and law firm, to facilitate a community discussion on the immediacy of climate adaptation. Florida local governments are at the forefront of these challenges nationally and are “rising” to the occasion. This session will provide an overview of these efforts and focus on examples of how local governments are responding. Monroe County, Florida, also known as the “Fabulous Florida Keys” has neighborhoods inundated with tidal flooding up to 3 months out of the year.
