DBFR’s Residential Lock Box program allows participants to safely leave a key on their front door in a small, safe-like box that can be accessed with a master key that only firefighters have. That means firefighters can get in quickly after a medical emergency or fall.

To participate, residents order a lock box online at Roperlock.com/product/mydelraybeach/

The boxes cost about $36 plus shipping fees.

Once the lock box is ordered, a DBFR public education specialist will contact the resident to schedule the installation. He will do a free home safety survey that includes an evaluation for fall risks such as loose rugs and poor lighting, as well as making sure the smoke detectors are working. He will provide information about programs and resources such as the Vial of Life and Yellow Dot programs, discuss safety risks and tips to mitigate those risks.

Visit Roperlock.com/product/mydelraybeach/ online for more information or call DBFR public education specialist Tyeisha Knight at (561) 243-7407.

PLEASE NOTE: This is program is available only to residents in DBFR’s service area.
