Delray Beach Fire Rescue has made substantial strides in the realm of community risk reduction. These strides have accomplished two main things; one, it has improved our community outreach with the residents we serve, and two, it has helped us improve the quality of life for some of our most vulnerable residents. Each of these has helped bring Delray Beach Fire Rescue closer to accomplishing our community risk reduction goals outlined in our strategic plan created in 2018.

Delray Beach Fire Rescue has a large and diverse population for which we provide reactive emergency medical services. In 2021, the Community Risk Reduction division was established. Community Risk Reduction, CRR, is a new direction of preventative medical services that will provide residents with the proper benefits and preventative care they deserve. This division will provide a range of direct services, including individual and family therapeutic services, assessments, treatment plans, and oversee service delivery.

The Community Risk Reduction program will reduce repeat 911 use, decrease hospital readmission, and increase patients’ well-being. With greater access to preventative services and decreases in 911 usage, it will improve the quality of life for our underserved residents and increase the availability of units for Delray Beach Fire Rescue to better serve the citizens, business owners, and visitors of Delray Beach.
