Beach Property Owners Design Manual
The Beach Property Owners Design Manual serves as a guide for preserving the unique residential character of the North Beach, Seagate, and Ocean Neighborhoods. The Design Manual is utilized in conjunction with the City of Delray Beach Land Development Regulations and the Comprehensive Plan. Together, these documents provide a common framework which can foster creative design approaches and solutions for projects.
The Design Manual has been updated through collaboration between the City’s consultant, Alexis Knight Architects, and the Beach Property Owner’s Association (BPOA). The updated Manual was adopted by the City Commission via Ordinance No. 08-19 on March 12, 2019.
Beach Overlay District Review Process
To begin the review process, a complete Beach Overlay District application must be submitted. The application is reviewed for compliance with the Land Development Regulations, and the Florida Building and Fire Codes. The application is also reviewed for compliance with the Design Manual. Once the application and proposed plans are approved, the project may be submitted for a building permit.
