The State of Florida required the governing body of local government that provides a schedule of fees to have a building permit and inspection utilization report posted to their website for the public to see. The information provided below has been derived from relevant information available from the most recent completed financial audit. This report shall include fiscal year 2021/2022:

 

1. Direct and indirect costs incurred by the local government to enforce the Florida Building Code, including related to:

  • a. Personnel services cost, including salary and related employee benefit costs incurred by the local government to enforce the Florida Building Code. $2,537,389.29
  • b. Operating expenditures and expenses. $3,429,803.71

     

2. Permit and inspection utilization information, including:

  • a. Number of building permit applications submitted. 7,126
  • b. Number of building permits issued or approved. 12,246
  • c. Number of building inspections and re-inspections requested. 34,932
  • d. Number of building inspections and re-inspections conducted. 32,102
  • e. Number of building inspections conducted by a private provider. 6,100
  • f. Number of audits conducted by the local government or private provider building inspections. 23
  •  g. Number of personnel dedicated by the local government to enforce the Florida Building Code, issue building permits, and conduct inspections. 28
  • h. Other permissible activities for enforcing the Florida Building Code as described in subparagraph (a)1. 0
