The City of Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department provides an Out of School Youth Program for children ages 5 to 12, with a supervised, structured program of traditional and non-traditional recreational and sporting activities, and homework assistance and more. Transportation will be provided by the Palm Beach County School Board to Pompey Park during the scheduled times and days. Parents will be required to provide transportation for day, holiday, spring break, summer and winter camps.

The Out of School Program is licensed by the Florida Department of Health which requires a background check before hire. Staff are also required to take training and certification classes throughout the year on childcare related subjects.

Out of School programs include:

  • Homework Assistance (Palm Beach County Certified School Teachers)

  • Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County

  • No Bully Program

  • Cultural Arts (Art, Music, Drama)

  • Physical Education Program - S.P.A.R.K.

  • Swimming

  • Soccer

  • Tennis

  • Golf

  • Conflict Resolution

  • Cooking/Nutrition

  • Environmental Education Program

  • Drug Prevention Program

  • Zumba

Now accepting After Care Registration at the Community Center Monday through Friday from 9:00 am till 4:30 pm. (ages 5—12)

Delray Beach Residents

Full registration is $575 ($25 Reg. Fee is Included)
or $300 at time of registration and $275 due by Dec. 1, 2023

Non Residents

Full registration is $675 ($25 Reg. Fee is Included)
or $350 at time of registration and $325 due by Dec. 1, 2023

Early Learning Coalition Approved Students

Parents must pay share cost per approved certificate from Early Learning Coalition (ELC) at time of registration. 1st Payment due at registration. 2nd Payment due December 1, 2023

Application, Proof of City Residency, updated Head Shot of child, Copy of Birth Certificate, first payment. ELC participants must present certificate with the site name (Pompey Park) .

*Cost does not include Holiday, Spring or Summer Camps.

The Parks and Recreation Department has had a partnership for the past twelve years with The Arc, a local agency that provides services for children and adults who are developmentally disabled. As per Federal law and the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), all children with special needs must be provided the opportunity to participate in mainstream activities, including after-school programs. The Arc's inclusion program provides training to staff in community child care centers with regard to disabilities and their characteristics, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and staff sensitivity training.
