High school students from Delray Beach and Boynton Beach that are participating in the Climate READY (Resilience Education and Action for Dedicated Youth) Ambassadors program, will present an original story that they wrote and produced, “Shelly’s Surprisin Shore Story.” The story focuses on issues related to climate change from the perspective of students. The message though is one that everyone should consider!
Climate Resilience Education & Action for Dedicated Youth
Climate READY is an innovative, 3-semester dual enrollment program that empowers high school students to become knowledgeable and effective voices for climate resilience in their communities. The program prepares Climate READY Ambassadors to educate younger students, teachers, and local residents about how our communities can become more resilient to environmental challenges and work together toward equitable climate solutions. Participation is FREE, and students are able to earn a total of 6 dual-enrollment credits through Florida Atlantic University's College of Education, in addition to stipend funds and community service hours. The program is made possible by a generous grant from the Environmental Literacy Program of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
