Public Meeting: Old Germantown Road Improvements

The City of Delray Beach’s Public Works Department will hold its second virtual and in-person public information meeting to provide updates on the proposed pedestrian and bicycle mobility improvements for Old Germantown Road, from Park Access Road to South Congress Avenue.

Participants can join the meeting virtually or in person on October 19, 2023. The virtual component of the meeting will be held on GoTo Webinar at 5:30 p.m. Following the virtual presentation, an in-person open house will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Swinton Operations Complex, 434 South Swinton Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33444.

The City of Delray Beach was awarded a federally funded grant from the Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency (TPA) under its Local Initiatives Program for the Old Germantown Road Complete Streets Project. The grant will partially fund approximately 40% of construction and the remaining 60% will be funded by the City.

Enhancements, including multi-use paths along both sides of Old Germantown Road, will be completed from Park Access Road to South Congress Avenue. Improvements are also proposed for a portion of SW 22 Avenue, from Old Germantown road to just north of Sabal Pine Condominiums. All work will be done in the existing right-of-way.

The City of Delray Beach has contracted Propel Engineering, Inc. to provide engineering and surveying services. City representatives and members of the project team will be available to discuss the proposed project and respond to questions and comments.
